Meeting Formats May Vary. Here is one approach this may be used:
Post the theme and background information on the event webpage at least one week in advance.
Define the theme or core question(s): Keeps the discussion focused.
Share background materials: Helps participants arrive prepared.
Announcements: Shared by a Club Co-Leader.
Welcome & framing: The evening’s moderator explains the purpose, agenda, and discussion structure. They may use slides, a handout, or simply a verbal overview.
Ground rules:
Standard: 1) Respectful listening, 2) Equal voice, 3) No dominating, 4) Stay on topic.
Optional/special:
Rotate speaking order
Break into small groups
Require statements to begin with “Critics would say…, but I lean toward…”
Use a “Gradients of Agreement” scale to spark discussion
Introductions: Short introductions, ideally tied to the evening’s topic.
Round-Robin: Each person speaks for a set time (e.g., 2 minutes).
Open discussion: Builds on round-robin input. Moderator may need to manage dominant voices.
Synthesis: Moderator highlights key takeaways.
Action items (if any): Assign follow-ups or identify next moderator/topic.
Reflections: Quick go-around for final thoughts.
When leaving, participants are welcome to shoot a picture of the optional Name/Email list.
Post a short summary or “discussion highlights” on the Past Events page under the meeting date.
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
6:30 PM - 8PM at the Lake Okahumpka Recreation Center.
Villager IDs or Village Guest passes are required. There are no RSVPs. Just show up!
Our Wellness Roundtable is designed as an open discussion forum where members share ideas and experiences related to healthy living and prevention. It is not a medical lecture or product-endorsement event. Information shared may include personal experiences, early-stage wellness concepts, and resources for further research. We encourage all attendees to evaluate information critically and consult their healthcare provider before making health decisions.
For structured expert presentations with vetted clinical content, please join our monthly main meetings.
